Sorel
Sorel was founded in 1962 in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, by the Kaufman Rubber Company. That year, Kaufman introduced the first Sorel winter boot—the Caribou™—combining a rugged leather upper with a handcrafted rubber shell. It set a new standard for durable, high-quality footwear—a standard still upheld today.
Sorel’s fashion authority was solidified through collaborations with industry icons. From Proenza Schouler’s runway-caliber reinvention of core silhouettes to cult-favorite drops with Supreme and Needles, each partnership layered bold design atop Sorel’s performance heritage—cementing its place in the modern style conversation.
Carved from legacy, the Horizon™ collection distills the spirit of the iconic Caribou™ into something bold and new—architectural, assertive and unbound by category. This is heritage recontextualized: forms that move beyond utility, built for those who dress with intent and walk with edge.
